I'm preparing to sell my MZ enduro bike and I noticed the frame serial number and the engine case serial number don't match. I was given the bike thru an estate and don't really know much of this bike's particular history (or about MZ's for that matter). Did MZ always match frame and engine numbers? Seems like matching is what would be expected. Thanks for helping me out.

Hi.
Considering how few were sold in the States (Or anywhere else actually!) and what it is, it seems unlikely to me that the engine would have been replaced at some point.
Do you have any documentation on it at all?
Is there not a specific MZ ISDT replica group out there somewhere, Germany maybe?
Cheers.

You know, that thought occurred to me, too. So, I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.

The numbers don´t match on these bikes. The frame should have a 5 digit number.
