Up For Sale: My 2003 MZ 125SM
125cc liquid-cooled single-cyl supermoto. Narrow, nimble, and fun. Some of the stock features are:
Engine: liquid-cooled 125cc single cylinder, 4 valves with DOHC
Transmission: 6-speed
Fuel capacity: 3.3 gallon tank
Fuel efficiency: 65 mpg
17: rims, front & rear
Front brake: disc, with 2 pot caliper
Rear brake: disk, with 2 pot caliper
I've replaced the stock exhaust with a SuperTrapp exhaust, and have the spare disks to go with it. More importantly, I have also replaced the VM24 round-slide carburator with a TM28 flat-slide carb, which really perks up the performance. The carb was tuned by a shop in Santa Cruz, and runs with no flat spots or bogging.
Improvement mods are:
- TM28 flatslide carb (retaining all the stock hardware)
- SuperTrapp exhaust
- Tag handlebar
Front tire: 110/70/17 Dunlop Qualifier
Rear tire: 140/70/17 Dunlop D208 SM
- APA Radiator catch can
- Acerbis handguards
This bike comes with a ton of spares:
- Printed & bound shop manual
- Owner's manual
- spare clutch
- spare stator & cover
- original stock exhaust and VM24 carb
- spare set of dirt rims (from a 125 SX) on hubs (no tires)
- spare cylinder, cylinder head, and head cover
- all sorts of spare Mikuni jets for both carbs
Now for the bad: currently the bike is overheating. I haven't spent the time to fully diagnose the problem. I haven't had the time to look at this for over a year, and would only ride it once every few months around the block, to the store, or short jaunts around town. It has always been on a battery tender, and kept clean in my garage (no rust on it whatsoever). I could dig deeper and track it down, but my wife and I just bought a new house, and now I won't have an time to work on it, much less ride it.
Test rides only with cash-in-hand. Send email to mz125sm@sbcglobal.net if you are interested. I'll work on pics this weekend.
