70s MZ models show up still in crates on US Ebay quite regurlarly, although this is the first ETS Enduro I've seen. I hope the buyer is putting it in a museum as I'm sure every bit of rubber on it is rotten. And to think a Florida Harris Matchless Rotax still in the crate just sold on Ebay for just over $3000. Should have snagged that one..

9k is a bit stiff, no doubt. However, if I had cash shooting out my arse I'd have a crowbar in one hand and a fresh gallon of gas in the other along with a good two stroke oil!

I bet the pistons wouldn't even move.rings and cylinder walls probably became one at this point.

Ahh, but they were built to ride not hide. If money was no object, that would be a a great trail ripper. Even if the piston was seized it probably wouldn't be a big deal to fix. 2 strokes are easy.

Knowing how robust the old MZ's are I wouldnt be surprised if it started with no problems. You just have to read the MZriders club mag and the Yahoo group to hear stories of old engines starting after serious neglect.

Maybe, maybe not David. I don't know how well MuZ prepped their bikes for longterm storage back in the day. I don't like the looks of the crate the bike is in, or the way the warehouse looks. It hardly looks like an "environmentally controlled" atmosphere. Also in the background there are many more crates most likely containing more vintage MuZs.

it would scare us if we really knew how many OLD MZ bikes were seating
in warehouses in the usa and around the world
and in old dealerships that have been closed for years
i have seen at least 1 traveller with 2 miles on it and it had 2 laverda's setting beside it
at the time and a baggie with 5 miles
this was in 2003 and i bet there still there
