Seeking Missing 1995 MZ Skorpion Replica

I am looking for a silver 1995 MZ Skorpion Replica with the CA plate 16W7812. I'd like to know the name and address of who is riding it and or to get the plate off of it. I sold this bike in June of 2004 in Dublin, California. The person who is riding it has not registered it in their name. I got a call the other day from collection agency about an unpaid bridge toll in August of 2013 on the San Francisco East Bay Bridge that they want me to pay. The release of liability was never filed by the person that I sold it to. California DMV still has me as the liable person. I went to DMV and they require me to provide the name and address of the person that I sold it to, but I don't have it any more. They were a father and son from Oregon who showed up with a trailer and paid me cash and took it away. They told me that they were reselling it and would complete the release of liability but they never did. It has IXIL pipes and a Mikuni carb. I've attached 2 pictures of it. I will pay a reward to anyone who can get me either the name and address of the person riding it and/or the plate, which is still registered to me. You can write to me at michael3900@yahoo.com.

this is the very reason why in my state the plate does not go with the bike when it is sold

lots of luck getting this sorted out

and you learned a lesson about selling a bike and getting notary witnessed bills of sale for both parties
and keeping them for ever

the guy has probably lost the paper work by now and can not even prove its really his

I finally found the current owner and the dealer who I sold it to. The owner sent me a copy of the title from Oregon where it has been registered since shortly after I sold it. It seems that somehow the plate went missing and someone else is using it. At least now I can file a change of liability and show DMV the title.

LESSON LEARNED

my stepson sold a car new owner dumped it in the creek driving drunk ,,,took off the plates and ran

cops came to stepson he had a notary signed bill of sale they went looking for owners
it had passed through 4 owners no one registered it... this was 6 years after he had sold it to the first guy

always get a notary to witness a bill on sale for both parties

states where the plate goes with the vehicle this is very important
