i use a sub for the 1157 stop tail on my bikes but it does not shine well on the license plate
turn signals need to have a load built in or a different flasher

some one else with more info chime in

I found, in a bike shop near me, a stick-on white LED array that simply tapped into the rear supply and could be positioned behind the rear lampholder to illuminate the licence plate.

ebay has plenty. i did some...looking, and bought some that seemed to be better. you do need to know which type - like for tail lights, bikes mostly have dual filament, tail light + brake light. indicators/turn signals, better to buy LED ones, not try to fit LED bulbs.
Find a good ebay store - like one that has it organised so you can see what's what, then ask them to advise what you need.
They cost much less on ebay, so many sellers in China, shipping is cheap.

If you are fitting a combined stop tail bulb, you will have to fit a blocking diode in the side light circuit as the front side light will flash on when you brake.

I have been using these LED lights for a couple of years now on various bikes. The bulbs certainly are bright and have a good long life. The only issue is that because they emit a red light, which passes through the lens more easily and helps to make it brighter.

Why is that a problem?
