Hello all, it is with sadness and regret that i must report that my 1995 MZ Country 500 has met it's demise. On the other hand, i consider myself very lucky and blessed to still be here to give details of what happened. This sat i was riding a gravel road and was kind of on the wrong side of the road kind of setting up for the next turn and probably going to fast....All of a sudden a car comes around this turn which totally thru me off guard.....hadn't seen another car on this road yet.....well, all i had time to do was to lay the bike down right in front of the car.....the bike slid up under the car and i somehow flipped around the side of the car after hitting the bumber with my helmet (would have been with my face had i not been wearing a full face MX style helmet)....anyway, I somehow came out alright, just kind of scraped up and possible mild concussion but apparently the bike is no more. I haven't retrieved it yet (went straight to hospital after the accident) and haven't seen the damage yet but the guy that hit me says the engine is smashed so bike is probably totaled. Anway, i consider the accident to be mainly my fault (riding too fast and on the wrong side of the road) even if the car may have been going a little fast as well. Have definitely learned a lesson about careless riding it's just too bad that the 500 was lost in the process. I guess i have to consider myself lucky and blessed overall though.....my injuries could have been much worse. Anwyay, will try to get the bike back from the insurance co. and will try to part it out probably and will post what i have for sale hopefully soon. Also, anybody know of a 500 Country for sale in the U.S. as i would be interested....i loved that bike.....anway hope somebody can learn from this and please be safe out there as i will from now on......
