Just bought my first ever MZ which is my first project!

Hi to all and thanks in advance for all of your help.

I have just purchased a 1973 TS250 red 4-speed with speedo in the headlight. It is a barn find, pretty much 100% complete and seized. I have been riding bikes for 10 years and like 'agricultural' bikes (I have owned a BMW R850 and an 02 Diversion 900) and have had a soft spot for these seeing them ride around as a kid. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140526001598&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

This is my first project, I have moved in to a house with a huge double garage that someone very anal has previously racked out with professional tool cupboards and shelves. I have the space and the time - so here goes!!

Teach me to suck eggs, presume I know nothing (I really don't) and point me to links, pictures, resources etc etc

I live in Bath, Somerset and will be a regular contributor. I will record progress in pictures and share my experience of a restoration project with all of you.

Welcome aboard. First step, buy a factory and haynes manual, equal first join the MZriders club. Got some decent tools?
All the best

Hi Gareth
Enjoy your time working on your MZ, I bought two last October an etz 125 saxon & an etz 250, the 125 is on the members photo's and is up & running, hopefully the 250 later this year.
For any bits I want I first advertise in the MZ Riders Magazine, it has paid dividends for me.
Cheers Ken :smt006
