complex things to fix

Postby DAVID THOMPSON » Sat Oct 22, 2011 9:05 pm

lately complex things to fix ..are making me want to go out in the shop and restore my 1953 BMW r51/3

i acquired an Elcraft K2 amateur radio kit from an estate sale and have found even after 50 years plus
working on electronics i am going to have to assemble a group of fellow radio guys to get it together
because it is top of the line in kits and more for the pro engineers than us nut and bolt types

ah for the days of a bike and a radio you can actually work on with out having to read the poorly written
manual to fix it
the fellow got it to where it would run CW (Morse code) and stopped
i need to put microphone on it and hook it to a computer and finish its tune up
and the high power amp
so if i am missing from the mz site i am across the room scratching my head about the project

and think long and hard before you drop a bunch of money in a project bike or radio
