Bike number 64 - MZ 125 Ts

Postby ricklincs45 » Sat Mar 24, 2012 11:13 am

Hi All,

having had over 60 bikes in the 31 years I've had them, I now have only my 2nd MZ - a TS125 of approximately 1985 vintage. My Dad bought one of these brand new from West's in Lincoln when I was 14 (a dark blue one with almost straight bars), so I guess this is what started by interest in bikes. As I'm currently writing a book about the bikes I've had, I thought it would be nice to have one to complete the circle, so to speak. Looking forward to finding some time to work on the bike, though having a young son means it may take (much) longer than I'd like!

Ride safe,

Rick.

I bought my first ever bike from West's in Lincoln too, a second-hand Supa 5. I'm now on my fifth MZ and back in the Lincoln area. Any idea who in the area has any expertise with MZ's?

Hi, Not too sure I'm afraid, I think Norman Francis (top end of town - Burton Rd I think) used to deal with MZ's but haven't been up that way in years so not sure if the shop is still there. Have just tried a Google search but no luck there either. Might be worth asking around in the forums to see if anyone knows of a specialist around here, other than that, maybe chatting to staff at one of the smaller bike shops might turn up a name.

Hope that's some help,

Rick.

Sadly Norman died at the I.O.M. TT sometime in the 80's, as I remember. I live on Burton Road myself and there's no trace of his garage or the stable of Manx Nortons and Morgan 3 wheelers he used to keep there.
