Hello all -

I just bought my first MZ about two weeks ago.

Thank you all for this forum. I have already found a wiring diagram and manuals, and parts sources.

I first spoke with a Baghira owner some years back and was sold then I suppose. I wanted a reasonable street motorcycle, not something that would be obsolete or uncomfortable to ride. Most of my rides are in town or less than 1 hour.

The bike was fitted with a sidecar at one time. It has sidecar mounts and lacks a side stand. Thankfully the transmission does not have a reverse. It also has an M4 can on it with quite a bit of burble, which I guess is normal - or is it?

I also contribute at KTOF; my other motorcycle is a '77 KZ400 D4. The Tour is my first water-cooled bike.

You just bought one of the finest motorcycles ever - really! I put 25K miles on one and enjoyed every mile. Check those nuts and bolts and pay attention to all the rubber parts - hoses and fuel lines etc as age it not nice to some of those parts.

Congrats. I bought an '03 with about 2300 miles on it a few years back, now have about 8600. The people here are the best - Even though I am not a regular contributor, they were very helpful with parts when I had crashed mine.
