just broke my single cherry

Postby daveb6303 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 5:20 pm

Hi all just brought a 98 traveller. the first single i have owned unless you count the old puch moped i owned in the 70's. Its an awesome bike to ride. nice and light and loves the twisties. i do have a few issues i would like to ask about if i may.
1 when closing the throttle it back fires, not all the time and is more frequent when warm.
2 the rev counter surges in first and second at 3000 revs
and finally where can i get a new clock??????

Backfiring on decel is caused by either an exhaust leak in the head pipe or lean fuel mixture. Try turning the air mixture screw out so it's 5-7 turns open until it runs clean.

Post up a pic of your Traveller when you get a chance.

Welcome to the fray.. I too have a '98 traveller. My Skorp backfires occassionally on a closed throttle, or even going up hill on my favorite bit of twisty road! Since Ive had it serviced, it's not done it yet..
