Yep, just bought another one..

This one has only 13k Km on it. Same build date and only 16 digits between the vin number on my old black Saxon. Set her up good with all the goodies from the old bike and offloaded the old one to a friend for what I paid for the new one. Those new Hagon shocks preform well on the bike. Well worth it, imho. DDR era luggage system is plenty big for hauling the camp kit.

It even had a chance to mingle at the Audi tent at the Carlisle Import show last weekend.

Thanks for the comments.. Not sure why the photos are twisted, sorry bout that.

The whole vin number thing got me thinking: We should have a MZ Rotax registry. I wonder if the numbers on the bikes were sequentially affixed as they came off the line.

Both the old bike #101 and new bike #116 share the same build date of 12/94. I'm wondering if all the US spec bikes were made during that same build date. I know there are a few differences between the euro spec and the ones that were shipped to the U.S., aside from the carbs. I've found a few scotch lock splices on the black bike thinking the PO had a hand at the wiring, just to find the same ones on the new one. Some of these spices show up in one schematic I have, some don't on another schematic.

Another question: were the Rotax bikes made at the old MZ factory?
