If this bike was closer to me i wouldn't have posted it.

I would have just paid the $2,500 as i hear they get close to 70 mpg and brand new at that :D

Thanks for posting these listings. This is definitely a rarity. I am rebuilding my other Rotax right now, so I'll have to pass!

I found this online which talks about why the motor won't shut off.
This guy says he gets 60 mpg.
I know someone that gets close to 70.I guess it depends on your bikes tune and rider weight.

MZ NRX 500 Saxon Tour

This is a bike that I owned from 2000-2002 and grew to like a lot.
It was powered by a 4-stroke single Rotax engine which gave it more punch than an MZ 2-stroke and a bit more top speed- about 90mph as opposed to 85 mph.
Only faults developed were one break in the loom near the headstock, one deffective ignition suppressor unit, £15 (symptom for both= engine won't switch off!) and a sticky choke, eventually cured by replacing the cable with a lever directly on the carb- more reliable than a remote lever.
Fuel consumption was good at 60mpg which is 10 mpg more than I get out of ETZ300/301 2-strokes.
