Newbie who's just bought a 125 TS

Hi all! I had to register here after just buying a 125 TS off ebay, it's a non runner and in a bad state but I like a challenge . Please don't get to tired of my questions over the next few months (hopefully not years!). I know it's not complete and the engine is seized but hopefully with a bit of TLC it will run again.

looks like a good start and not as ruff as some i have seen posted

try to keep it stock as there are a lot of these around in the uk
but not many in stock form
when you get it going watch the front brake ..on some of the 2 stroke models
it does not stop you very well
makes a nice daily driver for someone who does not have a long trip to work

Thanks David, hopefully I will be picking it up today. I've been after a 125 2 stroke for a while and always loved MZ's so had to get this. Don't suppose anyone knows any links to articles relating to stripping these?

Well i've picked it up and taken the cylinder head off. It is well and truly seized but with a bit of heat i've managed to much the piston down about an inch. I've been heating it up from the outside and tapping the piston with a peice of wood. Not sure what the best method is but when I took head off it was full of oil so someone must have tried soaking it. On a plus side it's in better condition then I thought it would be, the brakes seem to work spot on, all the switch gear looks in excellent condition. I will take some photo's as I go and try and keep a log (probably not a very good one as this is my first 125, first 2 stroke and first MZ!
