Turkey can be obtained at any time here but the big sales drive starts about now for christmas. You have the advantage (in some states) of being able to go out and shoot your own! (if you should so wish).

i live close enough to town that they would lock me up if i used a gun here
but friends lives on a farm where i can get one if i wish
if i do it on my place that is just outside the city limit and use a bow
i do not have to buy a license when it is on my own property
if you buy the license its just cheaper to go to the store
