MZ1000SF electrical fault

Hi,
I have a 1000sf and it has developed a electrical fault. When you turn the ignition on the all 4 indicators flash even if the hazard light switch is off. The rev counter will not return to show idle rpm while idling every time you blip the throttle it just goes a little higher and stays there.
I have used an actia fr2000 to read the codes and it comes up with nothing.
I have even unplugged the left hand handle bar switch and the indicators still flash.
The bike still runs perfectly

Has anybody got any ideas on what to check please?

one may be connections where the wires plug together
do you live in a damp climate that is hard on the plugin connections
female spades on my traveller lost tension and would not stay plugged into the male pins

plug fell off the coil got lucky and did not have to push it home but then a push was down hill
all the way that time

the plastic plug on the rt125 died where the voltage reg ref plugged in
the over all health of the wiring harness may be part of the problem
a close eye inspection my do some good

look at wire drawing for what is common to powering the tach and the turn signal flasher
try a different flasher unit if you have one
do right and left flash as normal after bike is running
and after bike is running does the 4 way feature work

and always use the recommend fuse size and light bulb size

both my 97 Nissan truck and VW New Beetle 2004 will not run the lights on my trailers unless there LED Bulbs
code readers say too much current draw so things are getting fussy when the computer gets to sticking is tester in the mix

had a brain flash one of the transistors in the flasher may have shorted

Yes I am on the coast in Durban South Africa, I will get some contact cleaner and try cleaning all the plugs.

If I start the bike the flashers still carry on flashing but when a switch on the hazards they flash a little slower.Left and right indicators do nothing.
I will try a different flasher relay over the weekend.

be ware that it is not a special unit
way back in 1974 my r90s bmw had solid state flasher and it was a hoot to find one to do a proper
fix
and how cold does it get where you are

bmw bikes of the /5 series had a transistor in a relay that was temperature sensitive

it was the starter button cut out to keep you from trying to start the bike if it WAS running already
and when it was cold it would not let you start the bike

I cant find a flasher relay on the bike or the wiring diagram. The indicators are not maybe controlled by the ECU?

the MZ1000 has no flasher relay,
it is integrated in speedometer unit, I had this problem 3 years ago too,

Maybe heresy, but for the indicators can't you just bypass the original system & rig something on the basis of a standard off-the-shelf flasher relay? Rev counter problem remains, but maybe just disconnect that & listen to the engine. And maybe a suitable aftermarket unit can be found.
