choke mech on Baghira

Postby dozzyd » Wed Jan 16, 2008 11:33 am

It now seems that i may have a siezed choke valve as operating the lever just results in creating slack and pulling at the sleave rather than the cable,Phlars, i believe you mentioned this. I have removed the brass nut and put some releasing stuff into the mech but i fear thet may not be enough. Do i need to remove the carb to get at this valve to free it off,and if so, any hints on removal would be most welcome...

Hi
The choke mechanism is attached to the end of the cable and should pull out from the side of the carb once you have unscrewed the brass nut. There is no need to remove the carb to get at the thing.

Thanks for that Stuart, just what i needed to know,i have removed the brass nut previously but have been reluctant to pull too hard on the cable not knowing quite what's in there or how it works,so i'll take another look and maybe pull a little harder this time! Regards. Ian

a little spray oil like wd40 or pb blaster to help as the brass on brass parts
in there get gummed up with the left over bad gas
