I am pleased to have found a competent bike shop here that does mostly Ducati and Aprilia as well as most Asian bikes, that are very reasonable on pricing and WILL listen to the owner of the bike!!!!
They have done a few sets of tires in the past for me and this week I had them re build my forks on the Skorpion. nice job and parts(seals,boots,bushings,oil and shims) labor and tax.. $50.00 - $72.00 less than the rest (that would even touch it) would do for.
Its good to find a place to trust.
The owner campaigns a Duc at Larry Miller Motor Plex and some canyon time.
So, who has a shop or accommodations (yours or elsewhere) they like and can recommend, so when you are in that part of the world......

The Bad Weather Bikers (Buell) have a world wide network of riders and shops that support the Buell brotherhood and so should the MZ/MUZ Brotherhood.

Well............ that was disappointing.............The Buell crowd has more bikes out I suppose..... So prob need the support group since BOTH of my brothers have had LOTS of issues with their 4 Buells ,so I'll bet it's common to be stranded? and MZ's do not break down and EVERY shop loves to see one.... "cause they have never seen one before!!!!
I was surprised how many shops will not even look at it.......

there insurance underwriter will in most cases not let them ..
here where i live they will change my tires but i have to take the wheels off the bike myself

The mechanic has discovered the diaphragm in my '94 Skorpion carb is u/s. Yamaha don't stock them in NZ. Do you know a shop in the USA I could buy a kit and get them to airmail it? Yamaha are quoting 3 weeks and $295.00 to get one from Japan. No wonder the performance is sluggish! Many thanks UNNA

The carb on the XT600 is the same as our bikes assuming the earlier Skorpions are the same as my 2001. Here's the result of my brief search but I'm sure there are many, many places to find XT600 parts. http://yambits.co.uk/xt600-carb-diaphragm-p-3929.html

I found what I need at www,wemoto.com. The carb is from the XTZ not the XT600. I really do appreciate the help and directions from you guys.

The carbs are one in the same, the 3YF. If you go into a Yamaha dealership in the USA and ask for parts for an XTZ660, they will look at you funny.

The nearest model we have here is the Raptor and the Yamaha dealers don't stock parts for them anyway. We get different models with different configurations here from other parts of the world which makes life and parts purchasing interesting. But we do have the best, most scenic bike roads on the planet.
