Posted: Fri Jun 05, 2020 3:54 amIndeed. If it's really stainless, hold it to a steelbrush and the deposit should come off. In various areas laterite dust + water makes exhausts look rusty. Pic?

Posted: Fri Jun 05, 2020 12:24 pmStainless will still corrode, though it does resist it better than most steels. There are of course many grades of stainless. If you're not sure look at stainless steel chimney linings.
IMHO the wrap looks better on big air cooled engines - surely most of the wrap would be behind the radiator so a bit pointless?
