Hi, I know this is slightly off topic, but my mate has a xtz660 trail bike wheels and he wants to lower it, does anyone know where i can get shorter or longer dogbones to lower it ?

Advice please....

i made mine myself. i bought a plate of stainless steel in the correct width and thickness and cut it in the length i wanted it :wink:

ooh yes, and your're friend will be needing longer dogbones to lower the bike :wink:

Thanks for that reply i will let him know I think he wanted to buy some so that he could put them straight on. I will keep looking and tell him that they can be made easliy enough...

Hi,,

not meaning to be picky, but you not got much material on the end of your dogbones I think if i made some i would keep the dogbone shape as there is more material required on the ends due to the stress of the suspension... See what i mean..

yours only just covers the washers on your links...

the originals don't do much more, either, but they look "bigger" because they are waisted, i.e. look like dogbones.
I made mine too, shorter, out of AL7075 4 years ago, and they are holding up great in the racer.

i'm not upset

and i understand what your point is, but i dont have the machinery to make dogbones with that shape, i only used a saw and a drill. and by the way, the stainless steel i used can handle more stress then the original dogbones i think. and my dogbones are wider then the original ones so i'm pretty sure they wont crack or bend :wink:
