Supermoto

Took the BP to Apex racetrack to see how it would do at supermoto. The editor of SMR mag was shooting photos (not of me) and asked a few questions about it. This is a very tight kart track so the bone stock MZ was a little out of its element. I think on a faster track such as Willow's Horse Thief it might do pretty good. The front brake quickly faded to nothing-literally! I'd have to allow a little air into the rear brake line and lower the lever to use it effectively as its very sensitive and locks up easily. Thats a lot of weight for the front to slow down and on this track as soon as you're up to speed you're back on the brakes heavy. Might give a shot at the beginner class race at Grange just for the heck of it. Replace fluid w/high temp and look for more aggressive pads. The speed was surprisingly good and because its such a slow revving big bore getting on the gas exiting corners, it hooked up well. Really noticeable in the dirt in 2nd cornering hard it would provide a nice controllable slide rather than suddenly spin.

the bike will do OK in novice. I raced mine in the novice class, finished 5th out of 20 entrants. got beat only by 450cc moto bikes. the track was not real tight, so I did not have brake issues. I run the Motul 600 brake fluid, in all my bikes.
