Skorpion Bar Mod - Cheap version!

Here is my $11.50 "quickie mod"

Remove Old bars and chunk em...
Buy a set of standard 7/8" Diameter drag bars.
Remove Clamps from top of tree and Turn arround shimming with Fender washers. The washers sit between the top of the tree and the bottom of the riser clamps, you only need about 3/8" max rise.
Install the Drag Bars and realize why you had to shim the riser clamps. (the bars miss the top of the fork tubes by 1/16").
Mark and drill holes for your controls.
Reroute the cables so as noting is binding or crimped.

Ye- haw, there you go!! Cheap and it gives you a nice riding position.

The future goal for this project mz is to custom machine a top tree that
has mounts built in for carbon fiber handlebar tubes....Way freekin sweet!

Here are the pics, let me know what you all think out there... :D

Here's a couple more views...

Whith the rearsets in the race position the bars make this bike
handle soooo much better than stock....

...Cant wait for the machined / carbon setup.

Indeed looking very good!!!

But my question to you is, where can you get parts for you're MuZ??? Since I live in Holldand, it's very difficult to get parts over here... :(
Like the speedometer&tacho... my tacho is black, I'd like to replace it by the same speedometer&tacho that is shown on you're bike.

I'd be really happy when you would know an adress (or anyone els)!

greetzzz

Parts in Holland? Don't know....However the MZ has a bigger following in
Europe. Mostly in England, from what I understand.

I thought that there was a group in your neck of the woods, Denmark maybe?

Hint: Find a MZ racer in your area, if you can. They have more infomation than you could use...

Hope that helps. ;-)

It seem our brother on the other side of the pond knows exactly who.

I ONCE had a MZ dealer in my home town...it lasted as until the last MZ left the showroom floor...a year ago... :smt076

:smt117 damn, these are fun!
