MZ RT 125 - No electrics/starter, HELP!

Postby bermudamzrt125 » Mon Sep 12, 2011 3:31 pm

Hi All,

I am from the island of Bermuda and have a MZ RT 125.

The other evening I came out of the grocery store and the bike was dead. No horn, no lights, no response whatsoever from the starter.

I asked a local mechanic and he suggested I but a new relay switch (small grey box, which I believe controls whether the bike can start while the kickstand is down etc)...but, after trying this new relay there was no change. I switched it on the left side of the bike, just above the battery. I had no luck there. The mechanic was telling me that this same switch is used somewhere else on the bike.

Is this the case? Is there another switch like this on the bike.

If not do you have any suggestions as to what may be causing this? A blown fuse? The thermal switch? My knowledge with these bikes in minimal, but I would love to be able to resolve the problem myself.

Appreciate any advice you can thrown my way.

Many thanks,

Nathan
