what engine can I put into 125 SM ?

Postby adizard » Mon Jan 23, 2012 9:14 am

Hi Guys

Previously (yesterday) I advertised a 125 sm for breaking, now looking at it I've had a sudden change of heart, amongst all the spares I have from a stripped 2004 I would have a good bike at the end of the build on my 2003, all apart the the engine!!!!
This is where I hope you guys can help me as I have no intrest in replacing a origional, I was wondering if theres a any other engines (125 or 250) that will go on quite easily, has this been done by you?? if so I appreciate any ideas and tips
Also I have the fairing off the 2003 that need attention and repainting so Im thinking of maybe doing a matte black and seeing how it looks,

Appreiate any tips guys .
Thanks
adizard

bet theres some thing that fits
the designers used some thing to run that frame while an other team
worked on the engine

i am betting some thing 2cycle from rotax or ktm
from 1990 to about 98
or some thing from europe to hide it was an mz prototype
get a tape measure and start hunting when you find a watercooled 325cc and up
that will go let me know and i will be hunting for a chassis
if its not 25hp or higher its not worth doing
but way tooo light to run much over 70mph
a rotax 350cc lump would make it go about warp 9.5
but the chain is on the wrong side
