Intermot Cologne 2012
2012-10-03 MZ exhibits at Intemot in Cologne a new single-cylinder engine for the single cylinder class. The cylinder head is not in the conventional sense of throttle. Instead, the lift of the intake valve of a servo motor and a sophisticated mechanism by drive-by-wire controls the throttle. This is intended, the fuel consumption depending on the load state on average drop by a fifth and thus the emission of pollutants.
The maximum power of 11 kW / 15 PS reached the four-strokes at 9500 revolutions per minute. The maximum torque is 13 Nm. The in-house development would for a resumption of the light motorcycle production are available, which is shown in Cologne as the MP 125 SF. CEO Martin Wimmer can also imagine a license production in the Far East for the local mass markets.
Also on display in Cologne is the study for an electric dirt bike. The engine Zschopau stand for a week in receivership. The former East German motorcycle manufacturer currently employs just under 50 people and offers mostly on electric scooters.
