Front Brake disc Warped!!!

Postby ptong » Thu Apr 07, 2005 10:07 am

Hi folks,
I have just found out that my front disc has warped... any ideas on what may have done it? I haven't had any accidents whatsoever... and now it sort of pulses as I use the brake. Guess I will have to buy another... I bought the bike in August of 2004... brand new... is this normal?

Sound very unusual, my bike sits out in the rain all winter and apart from a bit of rust I've have no brake problems. Only other thing I can think of to warp a disc would be overheating but I'm sure you'd notice a glowing brake disc

Cheers, Mike

normal is not what it is..
wheel bearings ok??because this could cause the pulse sensation...
have you checked your calipers??mountings tight??pistons working good??
is the rotor bolted on tightly??

OR
if it's really warped....you can send it for "pressing"but it won't be good as new,though...but usable.....

OR
get those wave discs for KTM exc's they look damn good!!

Just my 2 cents...
hope it helps!!

I would check the bearings or check the fastners on both rotor and caliper.

Would anyone know where to get rear break pistons? I let my pads wear down to nothing and one of mine has expanded to the point of being unuseable.

thanks for the feedback.

I will check everything else, but just eyeballing it when the wheel spins shows a slight warp. I will try to get it covered under warranty. Although I have already had one warranty issue so despite my love for me bike its a bit of a p*** off.
