MZ RT indicator relay wiring?

Postby XCalsteRX » Thu Dec 26, 2013 5:00 pm

Hello there all, I have brought myself an original indicator relay for my MZ rt 125 and I'm not sure how its meant to be wired as there wasn't one previously fitted to the bike. If anyone could please list a diagram with the wiring on their bike then it would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much for a much awaited response.

I believe the harness is the same for both RT/SM

Thank you for that Steph, I'll get to work on it soon and David the switches are still there. Just no relay, previous owner may have removed it for some reason. And sure, wish me luck in uploading it but here's a youtube link of it to.

Just in case anyone asks that's my baby Suzuki to.

bike looks right but those are not oem T/S like on mine
the wires should be there just finding them may be a problem
they are a 2 wire system hot and brown ground wire

I'm french and discovered your community today ....may I help you ?

you can download the repair manual there : http://lekorbo.free.fr/mz/manual/
choose the largest file, best quality of pictures

the shematic diagram is at the end but for RT 2000 (and upside down, sorry, not my fault), it seem your RT is post 2005 model so some changes are possible
you can download the 2005 shematic diagram there : http://imagik.fr/view-rl/74762
the colors on the picture are not true, I done them to find easily where each wire is going, the real colors are written ... for example Rt/Sw mean Rot /Shwartz (= red/black) it's in German (sorry), and explanations in French (sorry too)

the main change between 2000 and 2005 is the number 36 part wich connect the the headlamp only when the motor is running

as Steve said the indicator relay is under the seat and you will find a connetor with 3 wires (see page 122 of the repair manual):
- brown for ground
- red/black for +12V
- blue/black going to the commutator (is it the correct word ?)

can you excuse me for my bad english
