BVF 24 carb.

Postby Blurredman » Tue Apr 16, 2024 4:11 am

Hello guys,

I recently purchased a 1979 TS150 with just over 9,000 miles on it, but it had been unused for many years. I'm currently disassembling the carburetor and am having a lot of trouble removing the two screws that hold the part in the carburetor that the slide goes around.

Item 10 in this image:

But does it really make sense to remove the article? The emulsion tube(?) cannot be removed anyway? There are no nozzle holes on the side that could get clogged? The only hole is that for the needle?

Thank you.

I would't bother removing the sleve. I suspect it is only there as the easiest way to manufacture a complex casting and maybe allow a standard body to be used for different bores.

Thank you. Yes, I was wondering whether there was any point removing the main emulsion tube (if possible) but can't get the screws to undo that piece I referenced. So yes, I'll leave it be. :-D

I want to say thanks. The bike despite being unable to remove this item from the carb for work, seems to be running very nicely.. 8)
