Postby jbthumper » Fri Dec 16, 2005 11:16 am

Greetings Earthlings! :-D

saw some posts in a german MZ forum about installing a kick starter for the 125 motor...but babelfish suck...can't make out what they were saying...

the idea is quite interesting to me...

any german 125 owner care to elaborate more on this??

thanks!

my parts book does not show any parts or part numbers to do this
even though it may have been planed when engine designed

may have been cheaper to make it electric

A kickstarter is useful

Postby mareno77 » Sun Dec 18, 2005 9:21 pm

Damn, I had just managed to discover the importance of a kickstarter the hard way 2 weeks ago.

My starter broke down.. (something concerning the freewheel starter and drum.. or something like that). On the way to work and I ran out of gas. After a fill up, the bugger just won't start. I had to find a runway with a long steep gradient to get the momentum to jumpstart the bike 'cause pushing (even with 3 guys) proved fruitless.

That was when I really wish MZ could provide the kickstarter

kick

i have been in side mine twice for the freewheel thing
and the way things are made i think the kicker would die also
when the freewheel craps just from looking at whats in there
and what you would have to be added to make a kick work

hey! welcome back!

actually, a flat battery doesn't worry me much...a spoilt starter clutch does...

plus i think it's an advantage to have both...

just my 2 cents worth... :D
