MZ/MuZ Riders

hi,contemplating an sm125 as second bike for lousy weather days and with a view to light green lane use as well.is the change to 18/21 wheels mz only, or has any one fitted something else to theres,giving me a few more options,cheers.

125sm has 17 inch front and rear
and a 52 tooth sx rear sprocket will gear it to keep up at 65mph but 69 mph is flat out max

Please see my previous posts re using this bike for 'Off Road'
Tis a bit of a podge but built like a tank!
I'm in Bristol too, so give me a shout if you'd like me to show you the local lanes.
Dundry and Keysham are are good start.
I'd stick with Mich Comp3/4's as anything else is no good in the mud!

I've now got a Melon Yellow SX and try to keep it clean and use it to commute. Took it out last weekend tho' over Dundry and was OK.
If you really want a good off road 125 the AJP PR4 is way better but too light on road!
Still get loads of looks on my SX with lots of, 'Nice bike mate' comments.
If only they knew is was only a 125 and an MZ at that!

hi,well bike passed mot the other day and now waiting for side panel/tail fairing bit from grahams and a new front mudguard so it looks tidy again,any views on whay size rear sprocket i should get,not fussed about top speed more getting out of the mud realy btw i live totterdown area and will look forward to a bit of green laning,thanks.

i used 16x52 and the rt125 pulls nice on hills but you have a bigger rear wheel so a 54 or 56 will work better for you

thanks dave,thinking about going a bit larger than standard and as the pitch is the same as my mower sprockets i can pick up blanks for about £10.00 then bore them out to suit hub,just need to find a longer than normal chain length.
