Whilst rebuilding the brake's on my bike I noticed a pipe has deteriorated and split, not sure exactly where I should be looking in the parts manual for this, I think after looking on the Parts Fiche at Grahams it may be No. 17 on the Air box (included the picture) but if any one could confirm this or point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

It's the crankcase breather tube
and can be replaced with a short piece of bulk buy it by the foot hose
and replace clamps with type tightened with a screw driver
it just needs to be oil proof and there is no pressure on it
mine is a 2002 and still good but then rubber made in Europe is funny stuff
it may last for years on one bike and only weeks on an other bike

Thanks for the input Dave, The bike has been stood in a garage since late 2006 as I did not have the time or money to take my test and my CBT ran out, just never found the time to get round to repairing it until now
You wouldn't know the dimensions of the pipe off hand would you as now the RT resides at my sisters and I can only get over there Saturdays.
Thanks in advance
Jay

appears to be 5/8 inch a 15mm wrench fits over pipe but a 16 will not go
16 = .629 5/8 =.625 inside dia
and about 5inches long

Would just like to point out that the original has a metal cylinder with a hole through it inserted near one end of the tube. This acts as some kind of restrictor/choke. Not sure what effect the fitting of a tube without this inside would have on the engine.
Please let us know if it has any side effects. Thanks.
David.

that that device dj mentioned cuts down on oil flow up the pipe
and should be left in the new line if you can find a way
never had mine off so did not know it was there
but have seen it on other bikes and cars
