Hi guys im new to the site and mz's, ive just bought an 1987 mz ts 125cc and im loving her completely!

im just having trouble figuring out how much of the 2 stroke mix I'm meant to add as I've only ever had 4 strokes, can you guys help me out on the ratio and what not?(please keep it dumbed down though as im new to this) :)

I've got a 5l petrol can so how much oil do I add to it? (thought it may be easier just filling a can up each time rather then taking her to the garage) I'm too worried I might bugger the girl up if I do it without proper knowledge!

thanks!,

50 ml = 100:1
100 ml = 50: 1
150 ml = 33: 1
200 ml = 25: 1

This is when mixed with 5 liters of petrol

my handbook states that for my Etz 251 50:1 is OK with ordinary mineral two stroke oil or 100:1 with modern synthetic two stroke oil

But like most MZ ers I ad a little bit more for good luck a good cloud of smoke and that lovely smell so for me its 150 ml and 33:1

Morrisons supermarket £4 a liter

Range £4 a liter

My mates have fast strokers and the have to use synthetic oil at £12-----£20 a liter

I buy my two stroke oil in bulk. Cheapest I've got so far is £43 for 20 litres.

That means barely anything more than one extra pound on filling up my MZ at 30:1 ratio! I've only ever used the cheapest I can get, including using motor oil when in an emergency. Don't let the advertising fool you. The best oil you could get when the engine was designed was most likely motor oil or what we'd now consider an extremely low grade and susceptible oil. Even the cheapest mineral you can buy now is so much advanced technology and goes through so much testing that you just can't go wrong if you use enough of it.
