Supa 5 Differences?

Postby brennain1 » Thu Aug 21, 2008 5:48 pm

Hello Folks, can anyone tell me what the differences are between the early TS250's and the later Supa5 and how to spot the differences.

Cheers.

The differences are quite easy to spot. Earlier TS models all had 16" front and back, and the front forks were steel rather than the cast alloy of the Supa 5. The engines were also differernt, and earlier TS models only had four speeds, hence Supa 5. If the cylinder head has vertical fins, then it's an early four speed TS, if it has only horizontal fins, and completely falt on top, it's a Supa 5. All the other bits were basically the same, and the Supa 5 is in the nature of an upgrade. The de-luxe models (designated 'Luxus' by MZ themselves) had chrome tank panels, and speedo/tacho housed in rubber 'boots' rather than a single speedo mounted in the headlamp shell. Hope this helps.
