I wonder if any one can help me? I have finally managed to find a new front brake drum from a CB 175 K4 and I am having it fitted soon. My question is, how do I shim the drum - spacers, what size, how many etc? Also, what to do about the cable - will I need a Honda item? or a custom one? - the housing on the plate looks bigger than the MZ cable, I don't want to lose the OE front brake lever. Any help much appreciated.

Hi,
I'm running a CL350 brake which due to the larger wheel diameter had to be rebuilt onto the MZ rim otherwise I believe it's similar to a CB brake. I had to swap the fork legs over as the brake plate's on the other side. There was a spacer' sleeve that fits inside the oil seal on the other side. Vehill cables did a front brake from stock, they just needed to know whethter the bars were hi or lo rise.
Hope this helps and good luck
Tim
