Hi guys,
For the past few days I've noticed the charge light stays on when the bike is idling. It goes away when the rpm reaches around 1800 but when stopping at lights it gradually lights after the bike comes to rest at typical idle speed, which interestingly enough has increased slightly by 200rpm. I've not touched a thing.
Perhaps related.
I would look at the regulator and wires on the stator but I am in work at the minute so I am merely pondering on the issue. It has a replacement three pinned transistorised regulator.
Thanks in advance.
Matt

Hi guys. Thought i'd post a reply with my resolution.
One of the main places I looked for this problem is being the generator cover. I had checked all obvious connections (including under the seat at the diodes), and remembered that strang things can happen (including the misfiring I was experiencing at higher RPM) when the connections to the three phase were not connecting properly. Sure enough the wire that goes to 'V' was off. It's happened to me before on other MZ's when for some reason the connection is lose.
Problem solved, and RPM went down to previous level set too.. Not checked to see if it is still mis-firing, but I know the ignition system is not correctly set anyway.
Thanks to anyone who had a look.

check the battery water and make sure hook up wires are good order and spade lugs are in good order
at the battery give the whole bike an eye ball inspection
did you change any lights for higher power they could cause too much drain on battery
have you cleaned the contacts in the generator where the brushes run
i am a big fan of soldering on any spade lugs solder is way better than any crimp connectors
