Woohoo, the Supa5 is alive!!!

Well I finally got round to heaving the engine back into the TS250 yesterday & after cleaning the contacts in the red connector block under the seat and also the points it spluttered into life (after attempting to break my shin on numerous occasions), main bearings rumbling away nicely.... B*LL*CKS!

Oh well, at least the top end's nearly like new. Another bonus is that I've hopefully found a spare 3 speed lump which could be fitted whilst I do the bottom end of the original. Until I build the cash for that & a new set of mains etc. I'll just get it tidied up, stick a chain, sprocket & silencer on it and ride it round for a while to find any other points that need sorting.

I still think it was a good swap though & reckon it'll make a nice, tidy unrestored runabout for a couple of years before I decide/need to do a full on refurb to make it perfect.

Now you mention it I think I remember reading something about a weak gear, and my 'box does have a dodgy feeling 2nd or 3rd but I was hoping that it would just be down to the fact I was going through them with the engine not running......

Hopefully have a chain & sprocket by Friday so I'll wait and see.

Cheers, Dan.

i'm a little lost sorry matey. you've mentioned a three speed motor, of which i'm totally unaware. did you perhaps mean the four speed from the ES, or TS/0 model? and did you get the big girl running and riding again?
i have the 5 speed ts/1 donk in mine and love the way she pulls, up hills included. and the shift feel is 100% over the earlier four speeder.

best of luck with her. any info i can offer just ask. glen.

OK, I'll post my correction here too then.   :-D

Yes I did mean FOUR speed box & yes I did make a glaring typo and no, I'm not perfect after all!!!*
