Exhaust manufacturer for MZ Country & tuning

Hi,

Does anybody know the name of the manufacturer of the exhaust/muffler for the MZ Country 500? I thought it might be Sebring which also made the exhaust for the Silver Star, but it seems that is not the case.

Has anybody any experience to squeeze some more horsepower of the engine? It seems the muffler is the main problem here.
And what about the gear ratio? The gearing for the Country is really short, what about changing to the ratio of the Tour/Fun which have a taller gearing? Driving on a highway is a real pain as the engine revs pretty stressed if you want to keep up in the rush hour at 80 mph. I have a 16 tooth front, and with the 16 inch rear wheel, my Country runs 75 mph at 6000 rpm, grrr! The gearing makes sense if you drive offroad only, but if you hit the road again, it takes some pulling power and longer gears, I find myself changing gears up and down, trying to keep up and end up in in 4th and 5th gear already on main roads. MZ must be joking if they say top speed would be 87.5 mph, according to the manual - the engine would not last long if you drive at this speed, that makes 7000 rpm....

Tks for your help!
