Can anyone tell me if a Dwell/Voltage meter for a 4,6,8 cylinder car would be OK on a single cylinder, points ignition engine,

i have used dewell meter on on a /5 bmw
i set points to spec. gap several times taking a reading each time ..
then averaged them and then used that to set later points changes
as i could find units for cars but none for a bike
