TS 250 crank seals

I have just sourced a TS 250 engine that hopefully is going to power my Trophy Sport project bike. It seems in good nick, has good compression and inside the crankcase looks clean and moisture free. I'm wandering is it possible to do the crank seals without splitting the cases or does it have to come to bits?
Cheers
Andy

No, it is not possible on the 4 gear TS 250 and ES 250/2 engines.
Only on the 5 gear engines you can change them from outside...

I'm pretty sure it a five speed engine that I have got. Although saying that I'm not 100% sure. What are the differences visually ?(I'm not that familiar with the TS range)

4 speed engines have a head with vertical fins and a inspection plate in the top of the crankcase, 5 speed have the horizontal fins and no inspection plate IIRC

Cheers for that - I definitely have a five speeder then. Now I see the two together I realise I did know the difference after all but cheers anyway!
Time to get talking to my welding friend about how to get the engine properly mounted in the ETS frame I think.

Make sure you keep it rubber mounted or it will shake your fillings out!

Yes , been thinking about that. Hopefully going to get a bracket welded to the top tube so that the engine can hang off the TS mount as normal. Just have to make sure that the tank won't foul it. if that doesn't work I should be able to get some get some bosses welded on the crank cases so the original bottom mounts and silenblocs can be used. This all depends on how much persuading my welding mate requires though!
