My exhaust ring nut is firmly seized in the cylinder of my TS250. Any good tips for getting it undone please, preferably without damage?

I concur. If you have a stuck nut or bolt, heat it up with a propane torch, then try breaking it loose. Heat works wonders on seized fasteners.

Try after a nice ride in hot weather first.

If you cannot do so or it is still seized then like the others have said, use a heat gun, but be careful!

Do you not have the C spanner? I bought an old used one from e-bay especially for this (and to have the tyre iron). It is obviously the best tool for the job, you can get C spanners for the suspension units on a lot of bikes, you could also try them if they fit properly. But alas, Heat and patience and possibly a little metal shock to crack it off.

Red heat.
Be gentle.
Head cannot take that kind of heat.
( be quick about it, it travels fast)
Hammering can bind threads if you knock a bunch of rust loose in the joint.
Solution......rock to and fro. (Tighten a wee bit, and loosen ).
