just got this TS

this is my `new` 1978 TS250/1, i got it locally and it seems most of the MZ riders around here have owned it at some time ! i hope to get to some of the meets and rallys/camping do`s in the coming year..

enjoyed it just yesterday, very very cold though, only did about 50 miles to weardale and back with a halfway coffee and a warm at a cafe, it ran nicely and started when it was asked to ! front brake is crap though..... :D

Try new shoes using modern linings and see if that helps
the old ones may be past there service life

bikes do need a good front brake

Try http://www.saftek.co.uk/classics.html , they do a nice soft lining that works well on MZs.

do they do complete shoes or just reline them ? it`s not clear from the website (to me anyway !! )

I improved the brake a lot by putting a split link in between lever and mount and bringing the lever closer to my small hands ! i can now get a decent handful of brake, however i am getting a set of leading link forks with a disc brake in the near future, hopefully this will be a good stopper...

Looks like a nice Supa5.

It's worthwhile getting a heavy duty cable from Venhill as this helps to make the best of the front brake.
