Could any one help please,

my brake light had blown only the part when i press the brake but the light comes on as normal with the head light.

Brake light

Postby Jimbo M » Thu Feb 22, 2007 6:41 am

Have you tried your brake light with your rear brake only (foot)?
If this works, it could just be the switch/sensor for the front brake lever.
I had a problem with mine (it just wears out!) £6 ish from BSA (MZ parts)
Really simple to fix!
If your brake light dosn't work on the rear then I don't know.

thanks for the info,

I did try the frount and back on the lever and the foot pedal and the light did not come on with the lights turned off, but with the lights on it does come on but does not get brighter when the pedal or leaver is used.

BRAKE LIGHTS

Postby TIME LORD » Sat Feb 24, 2007 5:10 pm

I would like to say thanks for your help and give some more part numbers.

Yamaha Part

This number on the packet 5JH-H3980-02 and F20060830.
from web site http://www.beedspeed.com [A] 24 614 0030 & [A] 24 614 0040

This one comes with a wire attached and a cover but you can take them off and the switch is the same as the original SM part.

Gilera, Piaggio, Vespa parts

Part number [A]-24 614 0010 this is a metal one but it still fits.

I am still looking to get the back switch.
Thanks For Your Help

Kind Regards

rear brake light

I find it hard to believe that both switches could be bad.
Have you checked that your replacement bulb is twin filament (sometimes the simple things)
