Although I haven't tried to install one yet, my internet research has told me (and we all know that everything you read on the internet is true) that the speedo for the later Baghira (the hexagonal one) is the following Husqvarna part:

2000/2001 Husqvarna TE 610-E/SM 610 S P/N 8000 92346

Which means that the corresponding tachometer (rev counter, for those across the pond) should be:

2000/2001 Husqvarna TE 610-E/SM 610 S P/N 8000 92344

As I haven't actually tried this application, you must use this information (if at all) at your own risk.

KTM Radiator Guards said to fit Baggy Radiator...

Postby AtomicSpew » Wed Jun 21, 2006 10:25 am

As per Hoke's advise, I'm adding a parts listing for KTM's radiator protectors (the white plastic version) that are said to fit our Baggy's:

Part #58035034000 L/S Radiator SC
Part #58035134000 R/S Radiator SC
Part #50235033300 Snap Nut (order 4 of these)
Part #0014060153 HH Collar Screw M6x1 (order 4 of these)

I got this info from a guy in Eastern US that has the radiator guards from a KTM fit for his Baggy. Those were the parts he had ordered, and due to his failing vision, he sent me the receipt that listed out the parts. My eyes are a little better and I was able to read the faded numbers off the reciept. I myself have NOT bought these parts (yet), but plan to.

The front disk of a Skorpion (Grimeca) is the same as the one used on a Honda 125NSR.
You just have to turn the center 'cause the Honda disk is left, Skorpion is right). In Europe the Honda disk is 40% cheaper than the NSR disk
(?)
Headlight is the same as a Yamaha TRX850, older FZR model range and the first XJ600F. the Yamaha headlights with H4 bulbs are much better in quality :!:

Parts for Baggy that do work in USA Break PADS and Battery

Postby sisomos » Thu Mar 08, 2007 5:47 pm

I have been reading all you posts for the last year and half since I acquired my black panther and have benefited tremendously from them. I have nontheless, realized that it would help the new comers even more if we can provide specific parts number and manufacturers so they do not have to go through the frustation I have endured when I approached a Yamaha dealer and upon pronouncing the words" Baghira" or " MZ" they kind of freak out on the spot "literally"

I have to thanks the help from the Pros Like Mario Rivera (305-557-1311) from Palmetto Motorsport in Miami Florida, the make and model of the front and rear break pads: The front pad is part number 4544239 Manufactured by MS and Cat ACC description: Pads PLT SC FRT APR MZ the cost in Florida $29.99 As for the rear: PArt # 4544270 Manufactured also by MS and Cat ACC description: Pads PLT St REAR BMW the cost in Florida $29.99

The part Genius from Palm Beach Cycles in West Palm Beach by the name of Mathew Sundermier can also get you the best Battery for your baghira. The manufacturer is YUASA and the model numnber is YTZ14S and this my friend is the best I have seen so far for my Baggy. It is a GEL baterry and fits the bag like they were born toghether. The price is $150 bucks but MAt can get it for you for only $120 out the door tax and fully charged (561) 683-1642

I am trying to find the stainless steel spokes for the rear wheel. I have not been successful yet but I will keep on trying. To you all guys THANKS FOR YOU SUPPORT!

Hi sisomos
I broke a couple of spokes in my rear wheel (2005 Baghira SM wheels) and ordered some from BSA Regal. They supplied plated ordinary steel spokes as they have not sold these 'pre-stainless' spokes out yet. If you contact them, they may be able to get stainless ones for you. They are very helpful indeed, speak to Phil.

Re: Interchangeable parts - a list (Front Brake disk)

Postby mattylau » Sat Feb 09, 2008 6:09 pm

Can anyone say FOR SURE the front brake rotor off a 99 R1/R6 will work on an 03 Enduro? I just purchased one off of Ebay and all the holes line up perfectly but the rotor is about 1/4 inch to big. So now I am not sure if I was sent the wrong disk or if an Enduro rotor is different. HELP!!

OK a parts list...
If you've posted without parts numbers, repost with the numbers and description!
Post with all parts that work from any manufacturer, but include all the infromation that would be involved.
My brother has a bunch of motorcycles, and the radiators and turn signals on a triumph are the same as a Baghira.
I know no numbers...GRRRRRR!...just making a point and giving an example.
At the end of this thread we might think of another thread with swap modifactions, like YZ Yamadog parts or ?...
Gread thread,

Curiously, a number of motor bits interchange between the SRX, XT, XT-E 600 and the 660 also. We had occasion to try a few on the racebike. I wouldn't be surprised if many more would also work if you happen the have an old donor engine.

The mechanical tach drive from the SRX bolts right on the end of the 660 cam, just pop off the cover plate on the right side! Why? Well, we had a PVL magneto ignition on the MZ, therefore no electrics for a tach, plus a pile of SRX parts  Later went to a self-contained Scitsu tach, and buttoned the cover back on.

L side cover gasket. Probably many o-rings, seals, gaskets. Someone mentioned the oil filter already.

Many gearbox parts. CLutches, primary gears etc interchange...although you usually swap the 660 stuff to the 600  We use an XT-E (late model) 600 5th gear in the 660. Has a slightly lower ratio than the MZ overdrive, but less extreme than the Slipstream C/R 5th, which we used at first. We set our motor up with a very long intake tract, and relatively small carbs for a radical 762cc motor, resulting in huge torque and a very flat torque curve, so the short 5th was more of a nuisance on many shorter, tecnical circuits...hence the compromise XTe600 5th.

I seem to recall that we used an SRX slotted cam chain sprocket in the MZ. A perverse bit of trivia: you can put a 4 valve intake cam in the 5 valve motor and the intakes all open after a fashion...but I can't imagine what the wear pattern on the cam-followers would look like, or how long before they slid off the side of a cam lobe and destroyed the top-end

I believe the intake tracts on the 600/660 line up, if you wish to mount race carbs. (Not too uncommon, I guess...we mounted a set of Keihin FCR carbs from an early Speed Triple we had raced right onto a fuel-injected Triumph manifold on a newer Speed Triple to fit it into a different class!)

MZ 660 countershaft sprocket not listed by aftermarket providers in the states, but the XT-E 600 (later electric start model) countershaft matches, NOT the 660 Raptor. 14, 15, 16t available through Sprocket Specialists, Afam. I use a 17t C/S ( yes you can fit one on) but had to get it from Talon in the U.K. (17t is needed w/larger rear for swingarm clearance on the racebike when the rear gets jacked up for correct ride height)

Has anyone tried the exhaust from one to the other? The headpipes on my old SRX appeared the same, but I never tried it.

Oh yeah, Raptor head gasket set fits the MZ too...strangely, not too much else does. I can vouch that none of the gearbox does.

The marzocchi Magnum front fork of a Baghira is the same as the one of a KTM 360 EXC, the KTM part nr. of the oil seals is 7528197, they are identical to the MZ ones (same brand and dimensions 45x58x11).

MZ 250 SUPA5--

I heard about this and tried it yesterday "it works!" Seeing as mine is a rat i try lotsa things

Morris minor 1000 series

air filter is a perfect fit now the one i got was a coopers AG122

Brit brake switch rear works well when the old built in one is knackered

Rubber air hose --these crack and i found a bit of vulcanising rubber soloution in the crack works a treat

Also the big plastic knob on the battery side on the side panels. Mine smashed after i slamed the bike after a slip on an oily surface ---replace with wingnut

Front indicators--susuki GN range indicators spray matt black and voila mz replica

tool box lock--replace with lock of cash tin or similar

Hope that helps

Noel
