I would be quite happy to take the forum over, I'm retired so time isn't a problem. However without any reply from David or Boris I can't see anything we can do. Sorry to hear David isn't doing well. I see he was on the forum earlier today. I seem to remember him saying he didn't have Boris' contact details.

I have only moderate IT skills, and I'm astounded to hear you say you found a backup, patchy as it may be! Kudos.
In line w/ what Blurredman said, for me the crux lies in what I said before: without admin access to the hardware & contract side, managing a forum like this is not really feasible IMO. We need someone to really be in the drivers seat, including either access to the hardware, or contract side, if the site runs on a server which is contracted-out (which is likely). These roles appear to be done by the elusive Boris, so if we cannot get in contact with him, it appears the end is near.
