MuZ diagnosis

Postby kuku » Sun Dec 23, 2007 1:55 am

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum but I finally decided I needed some kind of support as the result of being an MuZ owner. I have a 2001 Sport Cup. Recently, my battery went dead so I decided to jump it with my car (stupid I know). I was in a hurry and I had done it in the past. Unfortunately this time I think I fried something in the ignition system. I checked the fuses and they're ok. Also, I do have a spark. It seems as though the timing could be off. Does anyone know what part on that bike could be the problem. I have a spark and I have fuel, but the bike won't start. Like I said before, I might have damaged an electrical component by jumping it. Any help would be great.

check the spark you have with a timing light to make sure it is firing correct.....

then if the bike has set a few days while trying to sort it out the carb has lost its prime and is dry on fuel
is where i would look next

it would be great if a motorcycle came with a battery box big enough to run some thing bigger than a moped with...

Try this; put it in gear, and push it a few feet so the cylinder moves in the chamber approx one revolution. Then try to start it.
Relax. You'll live longer.
