where i am west central West Virginia USA
it is running about 7 to 8 usd to fill up the RT 125 this winter

last summer it was almost 12 usd to fill when we hit the high prices

be glad when summer gets here the truck sucked up 140 usd last month
and i never left the local area about a 20 mile radis

get a grip on your pocket book boys

i am about to order an electric hub motor for my bicycle
looking at not the price but not having any at the station to pump into
my bike

£90.9(don't you love the .9's!) at the local Tesco ~ £4.10 a gallon ,70%+ going to the Blair whitch prodject -and they pinched our 4 star!! (My Guzzi runs like a dog whithout O/B)

I am touring the North of Thailand right now on a Honda 125 Dream. Fuel is 25 baht per litre or about $2.50usd per gallon. The Dream get very good mileage.

Bloody hell mate! When's that then? I suppose that's what they'll put it up to if this Scottish refinery strike thing goes ahead then, and then "forget" to bring it back down again when supplies are restored...

I Envy the "bilkers", might have to have a go at making some fake plates and a big tank for the TS & try it myself at this rate....

EDIT-: Current prices in Crewe at the moment range from £1.08/L to £1.20/L

past week in Parkersburg wv usa feb 14 to 24 2008 $3.66 most of week down today some stations to 3.60
i cleaned the tank on the rt 125 and did a full fill up last Thursday at $14.00usd

i am not even driving my truck unless it rains

3.65 USD = 2.32913 EUR

14.00 USD = 8.93389 EUR

it is going to change the driving habits of a bunch of people here in the usa

Many years ago I worked in a UK petrol station. At the time, mid 1960s petrol was 4/11 (25p) per UK gallon or roughly 5.5p a litre.

I found some web pages with inflation rates and worked out what it should be today. About 90p a litre. However, most cars then did between 20 to 30 mpg while today 40 to 50 mpg is more common. So for cars allowing for the increase in fuel use efficiency fuel costs to the user are no different to the mid 1960s.

For bikes though it is rather different. Then many bikes did between 50 to 80 mpg. Today between 30 and 50 mpg. Its seams that in terms of efficiency bike performance is in reverse.

If everyone insists on riding bikes with engines bigger than most cars, flat out, then fuel costs are going to be higher.

In the UK the availability of bikes between 150cc and 600cc can be counted on one hand. Automatic scooters are improving things, but even so the efficiency of many of them leaves a lot to be desired.

If you want a fuel efficient vehicle, buy a car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, I have a Cagiva 125 (c60mpg), MZ TS250(?50ish?) & a SymJet100 scooter(100mpg+) + 1300 Austin Allegro (circa 40/45mpg when tuned for economy, even with a 4 speed box! Usually tuned more for thrashing though... )

Both the 125 & the 100twist/go are more than capable of keeping up with traffic except for on the rare, clear stretch of derestricted road where the 100 only loses out due to speeders & folk who don't accept/believe that a scooter could be doing 60mph & so feel obliged to crawl past at 61, forcing me into the weeds.

Anyways, back on with the topic, cheapest petrol in Crewe now £1.11/litre (diesel £1.21/l)
