MZ125sx brake fluid

Postby 67kev » Sun Jan 13, 2008 8:18 am

Hi, i'm doing some work on a friends son's MZ 125 SX (52 plate). Had to open up both of the hydraulic brake systems,(front and rear) and gonna re-fill / bleed, but don't know what spec (DOT 3, 4 or 5) fluid it has in at present. Can i just top up with DOT 3 or 4, or could it be the silicon based DOT 5? Anyone know what type they are factory filled with and also if a front master cylinder repair kit is available? Cheers 67kev.

what you are looking for is in the rt125 chassis parts book
PDF pages 34 and 35
order from here
http://www.grahamsmotorcycles.com

i force fluid from the bottom up with a pump seems to bleed better
and on the rear the whole unit can be removed as a unit an hung from the overhead
bubbles flow up better than down
push the brake pucks all the way in and force fluid in from bottom
remove the old bad from the top resevior
