LOOKING FOR PARTS

Postby stevo2 » Fri Feb 08, 2008 11:12 am

Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me how to go about finding parts for my 2001 baggy . I live in the U.S.A .I have heard BSA regal was the way to go . Only i went on their web site and saw a posting mentioning that they were no longer supplying MZ parts .
Can you recomend anyone else .I need a damper body and chain wheel . plus who knows what in the future.
Thanks again

Hi Stevo
http://www.grahamsmotorcycles.co.uk picked up the batton in the UK when BSA Regal stopped dealing with MZ's. Seem like good guys to deal with and respond quickly to emails .....dunno if they ship over the pond though. Another good place is http://www.slipstreamtuning.co.uk (Wonkmeister on this site works there) especially if you want to hot up your motor or http://www.tunebike.de for the same sort of service (although I have no personal experience of them I gather that they are a reputable company).

Chainwheels, chains, wheel hubs etc are Yamaha fitments. Forks are Marzocchi Magnums which I believe where fitted to KTM's in the 90's. Engine and service parts again Yamaha. Radiators, air filter KTM.

If you trawl through this site you may well find more alternative sources for other bits and part numbers for most of the stuff I have mentioned.

Cheers

Stevo,
Galen at Bikeworx.
He's available monday through Friday 5-7.

If you call at other times you can leave a list of parts that you want with Kelly, if available.
Other than that a list could be left at their web site.
Regards,
OMC

SF Moto in San Francisco (415) 255-3132 has come through for us here in the U.S quite a few times before. Good luck, Ed

edec,
West coast or East coast shipping should be considered.
I'm south of SF Moto by an hour and had tried to get the right parts from them, twice.
I didn't make a fuss as I found another shop when looking at a 2003 grey SM for my brother and finally got both what I needed and wanted, from that shop.
SF Moto stated to me that they had a minimum order standard (Pretty high, BUT I UNDERSTAND!) which is a problem if ANYONE gets anything wrong!
The moral to this story /post.
Go to the parts book, know what you need, know that they know. ( fax, email, mail or hand deliver the page.)
My losses for fasteners that I didn't need or want and could have gotten from the local hardware store for pennies on the dollar without the wait or shipping...only cost me time on my Baghira, my falt.
I've since bought parts from SF Moto, good bunch of guys. And the first experiances with them, I believe are do to my ignorance, no parts book and all that has transpired with MZ and their mistakes as a company with uninspired business practices.
Most all the information to do anything with an MZ is available here due to all the folks here!
My highest regards to all, you are apprieciated,
Robert
PS Yeah Mark... Rob the slower one, but getting faster! Hope all's well at Slipstream :)
