Finali u got ur "belly pan".....r u using d 125Z 3rd brakelite as mention earlier?
Nice look,...if u can get some stickers 4d fuel tank area, much more nicer....keep up d good worx

I heard that MZ now is still selling thy bikes under E-jaya in Selayang & no longer with Hong Leong Group....so it takes some time for them to resume thy business back to norm...for those who lookin for spare-part,do b patient & just waited
for a month or so....
The fun of using MZ125SM is that u can get away in the traffic (provided your bike is manage to slot in those narrow lanes),

Yeah Kim....

At last, almost 10 times went to Bikers and finally got it with RM8.90. If I'm not patience enough, might be buying it from somebody at RM35. Hehehehe....

The 3rd brake light I'm using rite now is from 125z spoiler. Still had some issue on the light... Need rewiring to make it like original... The light will be come out I'm press the brake only.

For the sticker, I'm still dont have any ideas. Still looking for the nice one or custom it. Trying to transform my bike to KTM, so the colour would be orange. Hopefully can make it like this :-

Good KTM pixar,....
black is easy to suit & match wt colors,....i think that KTM decals & pattern suits MZ very much.
In my case,i might wana sell it off anytime if ths's buyer,so it's a stoppin point4me.

A color change should b nice but i dun think u need1 cos ur genuine paint stil good....BTW did u cut off d rear mudguard tail?

Yup... I love orange.... for the mudguard, yes I cut the tail but that one is not the original... I bought a spare for RM30 at SC...
The original I kept aside. very2 "sayang" to cut the original la cos it made by acerbis...

It is very true that MZ factory under Hong Leong Group is dead...factory + service centers have been closed down (soon to be closed = MZ Zschopau and all the main HQ in Saxony,German) and we’re dealing with price increase of leftover spare parts which some still remain in some workshops around the town...

I’ve spoked to few of ex MZ Malaysia mechanics and administration people back in the service center (just a month before they are closing down) and they claimed it’s a true statement and not forget to mention they’ve lost their job! what a pity lah !

Due to parts price increased too high from few months ago and unreasonable price of some engine’s part (one way bearing, clutch plate etc…) few of my friends started to modified a bit of the chassis and their engines by changing it 100% to a Japanese engines : kawasaki + honda + bla bla ... (dont feel weird if u met across a 125 SM with 2 stroke sound around KL) Which i knew 4 bikes already converted to Kawasaki 150 2 strokes / Honda Hawk 150 4 stroke and a Yamaha R-M 250 engine (also 2 stroke) - After converted we've tested their bikes and it could run up to 160 - 170 km/h <<< that is damn fast for a supermotard !!!

As the result, other than modifying or changing the engine, some of our old members have sold their bikes : Jan (about to buy a Kawasaki D-Tracker Supermoto), Shiraj, Wan Botak, Rem (is about to sold his bike also) and some few not to mention their names here... they've got fedup with the expenses on the parts which's difficult and expensive to get !

I, myself is now on progress to swap the engine with a 2nd hand Kawasaki KLX 250cc engine (D-Tracker for the supermoto version) which i ordered from a mechanic friend of mine.
With half expenses on the bike maintainance and cheaper spareparts I could also get more hp to the bike!

Well… anybody here got any other ideas how to handle this kind of situation: NO MORE SPARE PARTS produced??? I'M RUNNING MAD since i need to spend Ringgit Malaysia 450.00 just to get a spare of the one way bearing / starter bearing due to mine is already crashed ! TWICE !!!!! (the 1st time 1 bought it was only Ringgit Malaysia 150.00 bout 1/half year ago.. :( )

Hi Dirtgrinder

Ya i persoanly saw once in NKS Sentul couple of mths back wt a KR150 engine,...perhaps its gettin dificult to upkeep d engine esp d part r far more expensive than v can afford,..& it's more like maintaining a 250cc bikes oredy....

Swappin d engine is not oly d last choice but a good next to no better choice,...& further to that,i find it slight hard 2sell & potential buyer wil always ask MZ125SM/SX seller to lower d rate.....

Thanx Dave for the info, however shipping cost from UK is not a complete solutions for us here due to high rate of exchange differs quite A LOT - 1pound sterling = 6.8 ringgit m'sia :?

Yup.. ur rite Kim.. selling the bike is also not a good idea due to buyer will beg for a very low price (plus they didnt know tht MZ is going to be history) I felt like I'm cheating those guys if I sold my bike w/out they knowing they cant get any new parts after this ... Luckily some parts like sprocket and few other things have been copy-cat by local companies...

Yeah.. the one with Kawasaki KR-Z engine with white painted and orange stripes body is a friend of mine (previously he colored it in black/blue...)

I'm hoping that miracle would happen and hopefully someone or some organization would buy MZ's shares from Hong Leong Bhd... :smt006 and carry on to manufacture our :smt007 beloved :smt007 bike for good !

if any one knows MXSTEVEN tell him we need him to publish a set of plans for the electronic ignition
and the source code for the pic chip or find one from an other make that will fit and work

as most of the rest of the bike i can make

i can even do the ignition .
he already had plans at one time i have those plans but no source code for the master chip

ar dave

and remember there are lots of brands still out there running that the builder went under 50 years ago
nsu horex douglas maico zundapp bsa and they still fix and run them
in my town there are at least 5 yugo cars still going strong and most have not seen a dealer in 20 years
there a guy in texas that sells parts for them ;)

Yup... I guess ur rite Dave.I think we just need some minor adjustment for our bikes to fit other makes.

btw, Steve (MXSTEVEN) is M.I.A since our last ride / gathering months ago due to busy with his work etc. and he's not active anymore in this forum.
Well, I do have his phone number...maybe I could message him regarding this matter.
