Hello after 1 year with baggy

Hi,i bought my bike last year at this time and didn't get to ride it that much for a couple of reasons.
Number one being too many bikes and the comfort level of the baggy seat ,well just sucked !
So new year, new seat and have had more fun already than last year ! big plus is the cost of gas has brought me and the 660 much closer.
my other bikes are 1000cc and are a little more thirsty.

Anyway i have a question that i know can be answered here as i have looked all over the internet with google,yahoo images and just can't find out what kind of Scorpion this bike is.i know it's a 2001 but in my search i have not seen a front fairing like this one,maybe it's after market ? So can you ID this bike? Thanks

Inside that tail bag i carry a small backpack,i couldn't do without it as i always stop on the return trip and pick up stuff,I love the rack.It truly is a dual sport/purpose bike.The oem rack or i should say bars are useless imo.

Ok,i think i found out what model the red mz is ,i think it's a tour according to this i found on the net/

There are three main Skorpion models: The Sport, the Traveler and the Tour. The Sport also comes in a race-ready flavor and is coined the "Sport Cup" after the racing series. While they all share the same motor, suspension and frame, the ergonomics are quite different between models. The Sport models have a maxi-pad style seat, low clip-ons and either full or half fairing. The Traveler has higher clip-ons, a standard seat, a full-fairing and hard bags. The Tour has the same seat as the Traveler but has regular handle bars and looks rather bland in its unfaired form.

That tail's made by Baja Designs. Installs easily, good quality, and reasonably priced. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd go out to the garage and snap a picture of mine. So you'll just have to trust me. It looks great.

Hi Sue,
yes it is a very nice place ,i live in Vermont and i took that picture the day i posted it and realized when i was out today that i didn't have a picture of the shiny side with the exhaust .These fields are everywhere where i live right now so i pulled over <different field of flowers> and took some more.
Sue i belong to other forums and i seem to remember the UK had much rain last summer.
i have been to London and the midlands a couple of years ago lets just say i live more in the midlands.. BMI baby here is the shiny side.

What great scenery (and bike too) very envious of such lovely countryside. Have lots of fields and trees around here, but nothing quite so awesome
Rain... god we had loads last year, lots of my mates were flooded out around Gloucester... and some still haven't had all the repairs done to their properties

Iceman, re the red bike... I'm just guessing here but with the pannier set I'd say it's a Traveller, but normally (in the UK at any rate) the Traveller had a full fairing. I'd guess - and I'm only guessing - the full fairing wasn't to the owner's taste or (dare I say it) the bike took a tumble and the fairing wasn't worth saving...
My 1996 Traveller fairing is showing definite signs of wear and is starting to break up around the mounting holes... It might have to go someday.

Where's the bike advertised? (UK/US?) That fairing looks very much like something a friend had on a GPZ750 back in the '90s - very stock pattern bikini fairing, available from the likes of M&P, MPS etc over here for very little money in those days. You saw a lot of "street fighter" (ie crashed) bikes with those fairings on at one time. Is there a picture from another angle?

PS - nice Baggy - they never did lovely colours like that over here!

I talked to the owner,it is for sale in the US and i found out it is a Tour with the front fairing put on.He added the bags for $600 US back in 2001.

I saw a tour 2002 on here that looks nice.Here it is the one on this forum.The only changes from the one i will go and look at is it doesn't have the bags or the front headlight surround oh and this 2002 pictured has an after market exhaust.

Seems a fair price less than $3000 US with 1000 miles for a 2001 tour.This is what i found online,but i disagree with this statement."The Tour has the same seat as the Traveler but has regular handle bars and looks rather bland in its unfaired form."

Sounds fair Iceman, the Tour and Traveller are pretty much the same bike just the Traveller got the full fairing and boxes. To the extent that the Traveller is not even mentioned in the manuals and even some insurance companies over here haven't got the Traveller variant on their listings - I've insured mine as a Tour before now. Speaking of insurance I need to get on to my company - renewal's up on Saturday and I'm away for the weekend...

Hmmm, well it's factually correct about the seat and handlebars - I should have spotted the lack of adjustable bars but in my defence the picture was a bit small... "Looks a bit bland", well that's a matter of opinion... Personally I prefer the one with the boxes and bikini fairing but that's just me. Actuall I prefer the fully faired Traveller, but it's a right pain doing anything to it as you usually have to take the fairings off to get in to anywhere, which is how they pick up damage around the mountings. Oh well, the nice man at Grahams said he's got fairing panels coming out of his ears...

They're both nice looking bikes though. The one with the aftermarket exhaust does look smart. But what is that black cylindrical thing under the frame down-tube? I presume mine's got one of those too but I can't see it under the fairing...

Anna,the owner had the boxes added and i was told the owner of the shop was going to keep the bike for himself when new 2001, so he added the headlight surround but then sold it.I will look at it next week.That black cylindrical thing is for emissions control so as not to pollute the air we breath.

Personally I prefer the one with the boxes and bikini fairing also.One of my other bike has a full fairing and i like seeing the motor.So i don't think it's bland,it might be a little low to the ground compared to the baggy and i hope it's as fast as the baggy as the one i have has had nice things done to it.
